Quantum PhD-Days 2026

June 15–16, 2026 · Institut d’Optique Graduate School (IOGS)

Quantum PhD-Days 2026 is an initiative of Quantum Saclay since 2023. In the framework of enhanced European collaboration within Quantum Saclay, this edition is organized in partnership with the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. To foster meaningful discussion and networking, attendance will be intentionally limited to a select group of participants.

This edition is an international scientific event  in collaboration with DIM Quantip, the Embassy of France in Danemark, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space Germany and the Embassy of France in NetherlandsDTU, QuantumDelta NL, Institutd'Otique and UniversitéParis-Saclay.  The event is organized by and for PhD students in quantum science and technology. Its primary goal is to bring together quantum researchers to provide a dedicated space for presenting their work, exchanging ideas on scientific topics, and fostering collaborations within the quantum community.

While the event is primarily aimed at PhD students, it also offers a valuable opportunity for Master’s students to explore the landscape of quantum research and for postdoctoral researchers to deepen their knowledge and expand their academic network.

A limited number of master’s students will thus have the opportunity to participate.

REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION

If you wish to take part in this event, we kindly ask you to :

1-Create an account.

2-Register (in the registration section): The deadline for registration/submission of contributions is May 4, 2026. Your participation will be confirmed by e-mail.

3-Submit an abstract for a talk or a poster presentation. We highly encourage to submit for a talk. The deadline for submitting a contributions is April 17th, 2026. The decision will be sent by email in May. Date : to be announced.

Organized by PhD students, for PhD students, this event is designed to foster scientific exchange and networking among young researchers in quantum science. Master’s students are also invited to join and explore the latest advancements in the field.

The talk format consists of a 30-minute session: 25 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions. This structure is designed to allow researchers to delve into the motivations driving their work, highlight the key challenges in their field, and share any (preliminary) results achieved during the early stages of their PhD.

Given the unique opportunity this format provides, we strongly encourage you to apply.

We strongly encourage all participants to submit an abstract for a talk. Abstract must be submitted until April 17th at the latest.

Talks should be accessible to any young scientist in the field of quantum physics. Speakers are encouraged not only to present their thesis subject—new results are not required—but also to discuss the broader context and key challenges of their research area. They may, for instance, showcase the progress made by their research team over the past years while highlighting the fundamental questions driving their PhD project. Keep in mind that this conference is intended for PhD students; therefore, it is perfectly normal not to have groundbreaking results yet.

We also aim to reach gender equality, please help us achieve our goal!

IMPORTANT DATES :

Abstract submission : April 17th 2026.

Registration : May 4th 2026

Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for a limited number of doctoral students coming from Natherlands, Germany and Danemark. Successful applicants will be notified in May. The financial organisation may ask for complementary information or any other precision.
